iain goes bananas
on idhowe's travel map.
And so it begins. Left Amsterdam yesterday evening in a haze of apprehension, devastation and excitement, but with a vague sense that everything will be alright again soon. And let's face it, there are worse places to recuperate and reflect - okay, there are better ones too...
Landed in Bangkok a few hours ago. Avoided getting ripped off by the taxi driver on my way to the guest house on Khao San Rd (one point for me!). Did get absolutely drenched as soon as I got out of the taxi. Turns out it's the last day of the Thai New Year festivities, which apparently involves chucking water on everything that moves.
Got my single room in the guesthouse. Very cheap, very clean, I was promised. And it turned out to be true! Okay, I confess, I chickened out and got the aircon. Sue me. I'm new to this. Of course it wasn't turned on, so I showered and by the time I had got changed I was drenched again. I've missed this so much! ;-)
Next, I did the right thing and ordered myself a Chang beer and pad thai. Yummy. Well, not half bad, anyway.
So, no real adventures yet, but just wanted to let everyone know that I've arrived safely (just in case anyone was wondering). Watch this space for more action packed stories!

...What do you mean if anyone was wondering???
...You know I do nothing else in life but wonder J
I was laughing when I read your words... I miss this, always in the mood for a joke or two, attitude...your words soaked on me like on a dry sponge... because the dry sponge obviously got dry, it did its spongy best and found out that it appears it was all for nothing, because “honey” doesn’t do sponges you see…. so now that it has to re-plan its life and find another water source, the sponge is just thinking to try to save the spongy world instead and be done with liquid sources of all kinds permanently. I decided to go to Egypt backpacking alone. I made my own travel blog and I’ll keep you posted on the adventures, in and out of the pyramids...and who knows if u'll find out from my blog or from the CNN breaking news J
Im also convinced that somewhere there, a few steps away from me, something good is waiting to happen. And that good, and I must say also a bit mysterious thing in the future, is there waiting for us for sure... so I say lets race to it and see who gets there first J
Oh, and we had a little situation here with global warming were the hottest of all places in Europe, beating even Egypt... AND I already have the 1st chapter of my book!!! I know!!! Isn't that exciting...J...and I am off to Amsterdam next week for my first movie draft too. I'll be interviewing people on some of the burning my head issues.... and noo, I don't mean the SPC J...ups...I missed the dead line...
And of course all of the above is just in case you were wondering how I was doing too
You are somewhere now, walking in the middle of the Thai crowd.... exploring...
Enjoy it Iain!!! The moment will not be back ever again! Write more! I'll be reading!
And now...its time for the race to the great future!
(Gunshot snaps)
GO!
